Volunteer Mentors Needed Across the UK!
Who are we?
One Million Mentors is a unique, community-based mentoring programme, bringing together local young people and volunteer mentors who give an hour a month for up to a year.
Since inception, we've successfully partnered with schools, colleges, universities, youth organisations, employer organisations and individuals across the UK to fully train over 3,000 mentors who have positively changed the lives of 5,000 young people.
We recruit our mentors from a variety of professional backgrounds and provide them with specialist training and ongoing support. We then match each mentor with a young person aged 14-25 based on the mentee's goals and aspirations, targeting young people with high potential but low social capital.

Volunteer 1 hour a month for 1 year and change a young person's life!
You don't need to have previous mentoring experience, just:
- 5 years (or 2 post-graduate) work experience
- A listening ear
- A willingness to understand the issues young people in Manchester are facing in the current climate
- Capacity to volunteer an hour a month
After signing up, complete your profile, references and excellent online training on our platform. We will then match you with a mentee based on their goals and what you've said you can support someone with.
You'll be able to use our platform to access resources, guidance, to journal and to log goals. We also host optional fortnightly workshops for you to consolidate your training and meet other mentors. We'll also be on-hand to provide any support needed.
You'll arrange when and where you meet your mentee each month depending on when you're available, and have the option of meeting them online or in person, though we recommend meeting face-to-face for the first session.
