Retail Volunteer
Why we need you:
We are looking for volunteers to help Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) by assisting in our charity shops across Essex and Hertfordshire. The role will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to ensure the smooth running of the shop.
What will you be doing?
- Based at one of our charity shops
- Assisting with the donations of stock, by sorting and steaming and preparing for shop floor
- Maintaining good stock levels and helping with stock rotation
- Manning the till, including taking card payments and Gift Aid sign-up
- Greeting customers in a friendly and approachable manner
- Helping with visual merchandising when needed
- Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace which encourages a happy environment to work in
- Commitment to regularly signing up to the rota
- Understanding the Charity’s key standards and values
- Becoming familiar with our Health and Safety policies and being able to convey these to other volunteers
- If applicable, assisting the Shop Manager with tasks such as banking, stock takes, recycling and rota management
- Giving any other assistance in relation to the smooth running of the shop as may requested by the Shop Manager or Assistant Shop Manager
- We also have other specialist retail volunteering roles in our shops and warehouse
How much time will you need to commit?
Our shifts are 4 hours but we have a flexible approach so can work around the hours available to you. Regular sign up to the rota is appreciated.
