Youth Assistant/Mentor/Instructor
Sea Cadets are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join its staff of Cadet Force Adult Volunteers. We are a established Sea Cadet unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people. You'll assist or lead lessons, support with events or run competitions with young people aged between 9-18. Your experience and skills can help young people flourish – catering, archery, meteorology, navigation, orienteering, first aid, engineering, photography, marketing, football coaching, IT, social media, driving - there is no limit. Whatever your interest, you could bring it to Ross-On-Wye & Monmouth Unit. You could also share your skills out on the water with the next generation, through the opportunity to teach watersports such as kayaking, sailing, powerboating, canoeing, rowing and windsurfing. If you don’t have any watersport qualifications, we’ll provide you with all the equipment, training and the opportunity to gain national qualifications with the Royal Yachting Association, British Rowing and UK Paddle.

As well as the opportunity to be involved in a range of activities, the Marine Society and Sea Cadets also provide a wide range of courses to develop your personal and professional skills at little or no cost. For Instructors these courses include, but are not limited to: Boating Courses, Seamanship, Drill, Catering, First Aid at Work, Education and Training Qualifications, Basic Leadership Course.
There are no specific educational or experience requirements for this role; having the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people are the most important things! If you think the person specification below sounds like you, then please get in touch:
