Who are we? One Million Mentors is a unique, community-based mentoring programme, bringing together local young people and volunteer mentors who give an hour a month for up to a year. Since inception, we've successfully partnered with schools, colleges, universities, youth organisations, employer organisations and individuals across the UK to fully train over 3,000 mentors who have positively changed the lives of 5,000 young people. We recruit our mentors from a variety of professional backgrounds and provide them with specialist training and ongoing support. We then match each mentor with a young person aged 14-25 based on the mentee's goals and aspirations, targeting young people with high potential but low social capital. Together, the Tech Buddy volunteer and learner explore what technology can offer. Wednesdays and/or Saturdays you’ll be helping members aged 60+ get savvy using their smart phones, tablets, and laptops. You could be helping with anything from sending emails to installing apps.
