Eco Talent

A six month, four days a week programme in London for 16 to 24 year olds who wanted a career in the environment sector, run with colleges and councils to 2018.

A programme of the vInspired charity, 2016 to 2018. Updated on 13 September 2026

What it was

Eco Talent was a full time volunteering programme for young people in London aged 16 to 24 who were interested in the environment: six months, four days a week, with a Level 2 or Level 3 environmental qualification at the end, travel and lunch reimbursed. It was delivered with Barking and Dagenham College and the councils of Harrow and Ealing, as part of Our Bright Future, the National Lottery funded partnership of environmental and youth projects. The point, in the charity’s words to the London Volunteering Network, was “to develop real world skills that can help you into employment or education in the environment sector”.

What it did

Our Bright Future marked the success of the Eco Talent volunteers in April 2018, a few months before the charity closed. The programme’s own records did not survive the closure; the coverage is the public account of it.

From the archive

The archive holds no Eco Talent posts; the programme ran in the charity’s last years, when the blog had gone quiet.

What happened

Eco Talent ended with the charity in November 2018. Its address is still linked from the coverage and from a London directory, which is why this page exists.
