Volunteer of the Month - June 2014

Introducing Our Volunteer of the Month for June

Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Aishah Ayoub. Nominated by the Head of Student Development from Newall Green Sixth Form, Aishah has made significant contributions to her community, showcasing exceptional emotional intelligence and empathy. Her dedication has not only impacted her personal growth but also the lives of those around her.

Aishah’s Volunteering Journey

Aishah has been an active volunteer in various community projects. She started at The Tree of Life, a community shop offering clothes, toys, books, and household items to locals. Her responsibilities included organizing shelves and sorting clothes. Aishah also volunteered in the Learning Support Department of a school and served coffee in a Manchester College shop. Recently, she became involved with the Wythenshawe Real Food Project, where she plants seeds, waters plants, and maintains the garden.

What She Enjoys Most

“I enjoy keeping things tidy and engaging with customers,” Aishah shares. Her ability to create a welcoming environment is a testament to her skills in customer interaction and community service.

Making a Difference

Aishah believes that her efforts in volunteering bring joy to others. “Helping in the shop allows other assistants to focus on different tasks. My work in the garden offers a pleasant space for the community and supports local food growth,” she explained.

Logging Hours with Vinspired

Aishah began logging her hours with Vinspired upon her college’s recommendation, recognizing the importance of documenting her volunteering efforts.

Future Volunteering Aspirations

Recently, Aishah started volunteering in a café, aligning with her passion for cooking, cleaning, and customer service. “I’ve always loved visiting cafes, and now I enjoy contributing to one,” she remarks.

Aishah’s Vision for Change

If given the chance to be Prime Minister for a day, Aishah would ensure everyone has access to employment opportunities, emphasizing the importance of happiness and financial stability.

Aishah’s Impact

“Aishah is a student with severe learning difficulties, yet her vibrant character and enthusiasm for life have made her excel in her volunteering roles,” says Mikala Winder.
