Our Ideas for Social Action Projects to Change the World!
After a short break, vInspired Cashpoint is open for applications. Are you looking for inspiration on how to use £500 effectively in your community? We asked our team at Vinspired:
“If you could choose one social action project to set up, unrestricted by time or resources, to make the world a better place, what would it be?”
We’ve compiled our top four responses below. Let us know which is your favorite and feel free to add your ideas in the comments section!
Music Outreach for Older Adults
Idea by: Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Executive
Partner with organizations like Age UK to create opportunities for young people to connect with seniors suffering from dementia or disabilities. Music therapy has been shown to improve quality of life, so hosting music events would not only offer outdoor activities for seniors but also raise awareness among the youth.
Drama Workshops on Gender Stereotypes
Idea by: Campaigns Manager - Do Something UK
Establish a project using drama to explore gender stereotypes. Conduct workshops where participants act out scenarios with gender-swapped roles, followed by discussions. Each session would nominate someone to blog about the most intriguing insights, extending the conversation further.
The Happy Plant Pot Project
Idea by: Youth Projects Coordinator
Distribute seeds to local primary schools, each tasked with growing a different vegetable. Provide educational materials and track growth progress. Host workshops on food origins and brainstorm simple recipes. Schools would contribute to a community recipe booklet, promoting healthy eating.
COM-unity: Sharing Stories
Idea by: Projects Assistant
Organize a monthly event for the community group “Companions of the Mosque” (COM), called COM-unity. This gathering allows young people to share their stories, serving as role models. The event includes speeches and, of course, lots of pizza!
