How Did You Log 600 Hours?
Robert shares, “Volunteering with Shout Out UK and BackBench UK has allowed me to expand my journalism skills and amplify the voices of young people. Recently, I’ve been more involved with Oxfam; their cause is incredibly rewarding. Volunteering enriches my CV, introduces me to new friends, and hones skills necessary for future employment.”
Experience as a Team v Leader
Being a Team v Leader in Darlington was a thrilling experience. “It was like a rollercoaster I never wanted to end. The campaigns on social issues vital to young people were challenging yet immensely rewarding,” says Robert.
Balancing Volunteering and Studies
“Finding time to volunteer alongside a packed study schedule can be tricky,” Robert admits. “However, I always manage to balance both. Sometimes, my college work even intersects with volunteering, allowing me to write about meaningful topics.”
Volunteering in One Word
“Rewarding,” Robert states emphatically. “The impact on others makes the time investment incredibly worthwhile.”

“It’s an honor,” Robert shares. “The platform highlights individuals making significant contributions through amazing organizations. I volunteer because I love it, not for recognition.”
