Our volunteers support in a wide variety of roles, from offering telephone support to those who need a friendly chat to helping out in our hospital shops and cafés. Opportunities are usually flexible, no experience is needed and full training is provided. Whether you have just a few hours a week, or more, your support will make a real difference. Even a little help can achieve a lot and make a huge difference to someone’s life.

The Royal Voluntary Service aims to help older people stay independent in their homes and stay active members of society through our Befriending and Home from Hospital services. If you could spare an hour or two a week to visit a lonely elderly person in their home or in hospital, please get in touch.
