Log hours for an organisation you belong to

Before you start

• You need a Vinspired account, and you need to be signed in.
• You need to be an approved member of the organisation. Your school or group approves you when you join.
• Know the date and roughly how long you volunteered.

Steps

1. Open your dashboard and choose Log experience.
2. Choose Membership.
3. If you belong to more than one organisation, pick the right one under Select your organisation.
4. Set the Date of experience. Use the day you volunteered.
5. Type the Hours spent. Half hours are fine, such as 1.5.
6. Tick the Skills you used and the Impact areas your work helped. Some organisations also ask for Attributes.
7. Write a short Description of what you did. Two or three sentences is enough.
8. Press Submit.

What happens next

Your hours show on your dashboard as Pending. An admin at your organisation checks them and approves them. Once approved, they count towards your total and your certificates, and they appear on your profile.

You do not need to log every session on the day. Logging once a week or once a term is fine, as long as the dates are right.

Common problems

• You cannot see Membership as a choice. You are not an approved member of an organisation yet. Ask your organisation to approve you, then try again.
• The organisation you want is not in the list. Only organisations you are an approved member of appear. Join that organisation first.
• Your hours have stayed pending for a while. Only an admin at your organisation can approve them. Ask them to look at the pending hours.
• You logged the wrong hours. Tell an admin at your organisation before they approve the entry. They can reject it, and you can log it again.
