Why your hours say pending

Pending means nobody has checked the hours yet. An admin approves them, or a referee confirms them by email. Only approved hours count as verified.

Before you start

  • A Vinspired account, signed in.
  • Hours you have logged. This guide explains the words you see next to them.

Steps

  1. Open your dashboard and look at Recent experiences. Each entry shows Pending, Approved or Rejected.
  2. Press View all to see everything you have logged, with the organisation and the hours.
  3. Hours you logged with a referee are listed under External Experiences. They show Awaiting referee until the referee confirms them, then Verified.
  4. If an entry has been Pending for more than a week, ask an admin at the organisation to look at it. Only they can approve it.

What happens next

Pending means the organisation has not checked the hours yet. An admin there opens the entry and approves it or rejects it. Approved hours become your Verified hours on your dashboard, and they count towards certificates and badges. Rejected hours do not count. You can log them again if the entry was wrong.

For an organisation, pending is the queue: every entry your volunteers log waits there until one of your admins approves it. Approving hours takes one press per entry.

Common problems

  • Your total has not gone up. Only approved hours count. Pending hours are not in the total yet.
  • An entry was rejected and you do not know why. Ask the admin. Common reasons are the wrong date, too many hours, or an activity that was not volunteering.
  • You want to take an entry back. Open it and press Withdraw. You can log it again afterwards.
