Do Something UK
The charity's digital campaigning arm from 2012, built with DoSomething.org, running quick actions for 14 to 25 year olds with celebrity backing and prizes.
A programme of the vInspired charity, 2012 to 2014. Updated on 13 September 2026
What it was
Do Something UK was the charity’s newest project in the summer of 2012: a partnership with DoSomething.org, the American youth activism movement that by then had 2.2 million young people taking part each year and a presence in one in three schools in the United States. The UK version offered quick, simple, digital-first actions for 14 to 25 year olds, with celebrity backing and prizes, alongside the longer volunteering roles on vinspired.com.
What it did
The first campaign was Reverse Riots, launched on 3 July 2012 ahead of the first anniversary of the 2011 summer riots, asking young people to set the record straight about what they had to offer. The campaigns that followed were Lolz not Trolls, against online trolling, in early 2013, and Get Trashed, against fast fashion, in the winter of 2013 to 2014. Each has its own page.
