Before you start

  • Approved hours. Certificates need 10 hours for V10, 30 for V30, 50 for V50 and 100 for V100.
  • Badges need no application. A skill or cause badge unlocks on its own at 10, 50 and 100 hours in that skill or cause.

Steps

  1. Open your dashboard and find My certificates. Press View all to see every certificate and the hours it needs.
  2. Open the certificate you have the hours for and press Apply. If it asks you to Choose a provider, pick the organisation you volunteered with.
  3. Wait for the organisation to approve it. Until then the button says Pending.
  4. When it is approved, open it from My trophy shelf or My certificates.
  5. Press Copy link to send it to anyone, LinkedIn to post it, or Download PDF to keep a copy.
  6. For badges, open My badges on your dashboard. A badge you have reached is already yours. Press View all badges to see them all.

What happens next

The certificate appears on your profile with a verification ID that anyone can check. The PDF takes a few seconds to prepare the first time. Everything you earn stays on your record, whatever happens to the organisation.

Common problems

  • There is no Apply button, only a red message. It says how many hours you still need. Only approved volunteering hours count towards a certificate, not pending ones.
  • A certificate is missing from the list. The organisation may not provide that one yet. Ask them, or tell us.
  • The PDF is taking too long. Press Try again. If it still does not appear, tell us.
  • You applied by mistake. Hover over Pending and press Withdraw.
