Before you start

  • A Vinspired account, signed in.
  • The name of the organisation, school or group. Your teacher or organiser will tell you.
  • If your school or organisation added you from a list, you are already a member. Skip to the groups in step 4.

Steps

  1. Press Explore at the top of the page, choose Organisations and open the organisation’s page.
  2. Under Memberships & Groups, press Join followed by the organisation’s name. The button changes to Awaiting Approval.
  3. In the same section, press Join next to any group you belong to, such as your tutor group or a club. That button also changes to Awaiting Approval.
  4. Come back later. When an admin has approved you, the buttons say Member and Joined.

What happens next

Once you are a Member, you can log hours for that organisation and its admins can approve them. The admins of a group you have Joined are told when you log hours, apply for volunteering or apply for an award.

Common problems

  • You cannot find the organisation. Check the spelling. If it is not on Vinspired yet, ask them to register.
  • The button has said Awaiting Approval for days. Only an admin at the organisation can approve you. Ask the person who runs Vinspired there. To take the request back, hover over the button and press Cancel Request.
  • A group says Members only. It is a private group. You can join it once your membership of the organisation is approved.
  • You joined the wrong organisation. Hover over Member and press Leave.
