At a glance

  1. Create your account.
  2. Find an opportunity and apply.
  3. Log your hours after each session.
  4. Earn certificates and badges.

Before you start

  • An email address you can open.
  • Ten minutes. Volunteers never pay to use Vinspired.

Steps

  1. Go to vinspired.com and press Sign up. Add your name, email and a password, or press Sign in with Google. Confirm your email from the message we send. Why it counts: your record lives in your account, and it is yours for good.
  2. Press Explore and search, or open Find volunteering opportunities and narrow the list with Impact Areas, Skills and More Filters.
  3. Open an opportunity you like and press Apply now. Answer any questions and press Submit application. The button changes to Application submitted. Why it counts: the organisation reads every application, so a short honest answer helps them say yes.
  4. Watch My volunteering on your dashboard. When it says Approved, you are in. Press Message the organiser if you have a question.
  5. After each session, press Log experience, choose Volunteering, pick the role under Your volunteering placement, set the Date of experience and the Hours spent, add a Description and press Submit. Why it counts: hours are pending until the organisation approves them, and approved hours are verified for good.
  6. Volunteering somewhere that is not on Vinspired? Choose External Experience instead and name a referee who can confirm it by email.
  7. At 10 approved hours, open My certificates, open V10 and press Apply. V30 needs 30 hours, V50 needs 50 and V100 needs 100. Badges for skills and causes unlock on their own. Why it counts: a certificate is proof you can put in front of a university or an employer.
  8. Share it with Copy link, LinkedIn or Download PDF.

What happens next

Your dashboard shows your Verified hours, your Awards and your Volunteering applications. Your profile page holds every certificate and badge with a verification ID anyone can check, whatever happens to the organisation you earned it with.

Common problems

  • An organisation has not replied. Press Message the organiser on the opportunity, or apply for another one. Applications are approved by people, so it can take a few days.
  • Volunteering is not offered when you log hours. It only lists roles where you have been approved. For anything else, choose External Experience.
  • Your hours have been pending for a while. Only the organisation can approve them. Ask them to check.
  • A certificate says you need more hours. Only approved volunteering hours count, not pending ones.
