Messaging on Vinspired is not a mailing list bolted onto a database. It is a conversation between an organisation and a person who has some relationship with it: somebody who applied, somebody who joined, somebody in a group you run. Threads live in an inbox on both sides.

How far you can reach depends on where you are on the verification ladder. An email verified organisation can reply inside a conversation somebody started. An organisation approved by a person can message its own members and applicants. Reaching further is a rung above that, and the rung is a build rather than a price.

This is deliberate, and it is the part a competitor cannot copy without giving up its revenue model. Verification is free on every level. Nothing about who you can contact is for sale, because young people are on the other end of it.

Messages are part of the record rather than a separate system. A conversation about an opportunity sits alongside the application it came from, so whoever picks it up next week can read what was already said instead of asking the same question again.

There is no broadcast that reaches people who never chose you. Everybody you can message applied, joined, or belongs to a group you run, and any of them can leave. That constraint is a design decision rather than a missing feature.

Volunteers can leave a conversation, and an organisation cannot start one with somebody who has no relationship with it. Both of those are deliberate. A young person joining a platform to find volunteering should not become a name on a list they never agreed to be on.

No. You can reach people who have a relationship with your organisation, and how far that goes is set by the verification ladder.

Does a level buy wider reach?

No. Verification is free on every level and price never buys a way round it. This one is not negotiable.

Can volunteers message us?

Yes. A volunteer can start a conversation with an organisation, and an email verified organisation can reply inside it.

Is messaging free?

Yes, on every level. Nothing about contacting your own people is gated behind a price.

Can we send one message to a whole year group?

Yes, to a group you run. What you cannot do is message people who have no relationship with your organisation, whatever level you are on.
