At a glance

  1. Complete your profile.
  2. Add your admins and your members.
  3. Post an opportunity.
  4. Approve hours and recognise people.

Before you start

  • An approved organisation account. If you have not applied yet, register your organisation. You get an email when it is approved, with a link to create your password.
  • A square logo and a few sentences about what you do.
  • The names and emails of the colleagues who will help you run it.

Steps

  1. Sign in, open the menu and, under Switch Account, choose your organisation. Why it counts: your personal account and your organisation account are separate, and every admin screen lives in the second.
  2. On Organisation dashboard, press Settings. Write About Us, upload your Organisation Logo, tick your Impact Areas and Skills Offered, and press Save Changes. Why it counts: volunteers read this page before they join.
  3. Back on the dashboard, under Organisation admins, press Manage. Type a colleague’s email under Add an organisation admin and press Add admin. Why it counts: every admin can approve hours, so nobody waits for one person.
  4. Open the menu and, under People, choose Members. Press Upload users to add many people from a CSV, Invite by email to invite one, or Quick add for somebody without an email.
  5. Under People, choose Groups, press New Group, give it a Group Name and press Create Group. Then open a member from Members and tick the group under Groups. Why it counts: groups let you filter, notify and report on the right people.
  6. Under Content, choose Opportunities and press Create Opportunity. Fill in the Opportunity Title and the Full Description, turn on Publish Opportunity and press Create Opportunity. Why it counts: a published opportunity is how volunteers find you.
  7. Under People, choose Applications. Press Approve on membership requests, volunteering applications and experience updates as they arrive. Why it counts: one approval turns a claim into evidence.
  8. Under Settings, choose Awards and press Create award to recognise people with a badge or a certificate. Press Grant next to it to give it to members.

What happens next

The dashboard shows what Needs your attention as requests arrive. Volunteers see their hours turn from pending to approved, and approved hours count towards their certificates. A new award is reviewed by us before anyone can apply for it, which usually takes a working day.

Common problems

  • You cannot see the admin menu. You are in your personal account. Switch to the organisation under Switch Account.
  • A screen you expected is not there. Some tools are available to your organisation on some levels only. The page tells you when one is not, and who to ask.
  • Nobody has applied yet. Press Copy link next to the opportunity on the opportunities list and share it.

Still stuck

Send us what you saw on screen through the contact form. We reply by email within two working days.
