If yes, we’d love to have you as part of our team! Remedi are recruiting and training Volunteer Community Panel Members on behalf of Rotherham Youth Justice Service who are responsible for overseeing children who have offended and supporting them to prevent further offending whilst repairing harm to the victim/s and community. As part of this, Remedi alongside Rotherham YJS, manage children who have been sentenced with a community order at Court, known as a Referral Order. A key part of the Referral Order are the panel meetings which are held every three months of the child’s order. Panel meetings are made up of two Volunteer Community Panel Members, Youth Justice representatives, victim and reparation practitioners and most importantly, the child and their parent/carer. Working together, the panel decide how best to support the child to prevent further offending and how they can make things right by the victim and community. This is where we need you! Remedi are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. You will be required to undertake training to support with this and complete DBS/police vetting where required.

The Island is a York-based charity that has over the last 15 years helped children and young people between the ages of 8 and 18 overcome challenges with their physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing through regular recreational mentoring provisions. Alongside their fully trained volunteer mentor, the one-to-one mentoring programme provides children and young people with the time and space they require to build positive thoughts and feelings about themselves so that they are better able to cope with future life challenges.
