Deputy Area Coordinators support the Area Coordinator in the day-to-day management of North West First Responder Group activities within their local area. They help coordinate volunteers, assist with community engagement and fundraising activities, support local projects, and help ensure the area operates effectively. Area Coordinators lead and support North West First Responder Group volunteers within their local area. They are responsible for volunteer welfare, local operations, community engagement, fundraising activities, and ensuring the area operates in line with the charity's values, policies, and objectives. This rewarding leadership role provides an opportunity to develop a local team, build community partnerships, and help deliver the charity's mission across your area.

Community First Responders (CFRs) are trained volunteers who respond on behalf of the ambulance service to certain 999 emergencies within their local community. By providing early assessment, basic life support, CPR, and defibrillation where required, CFRs help ensure patients receive vital care as quickly as possible while an ambulance is on its way. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference during some of the most critical moments in a person's life.

Help ensure our volunteers are supported, developed, and kept safe. As a Training & Safeguarding Officer, you will assist with the delivery and coordination of volunteer training, support the charity's safeguarding processes, and help maintain a safe and positive environment for volunteers and members of the public. You may help organise training events, maintain training records, promote best practice, and support safeguarding awareness across the charity. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, approachable, and passionate about volunteer development and welfare. Full training and support will be provided where required.

Help us raise the funds needed to save lives in our communities. As a Fundraising Officer, you will support the charity by developing fundraising ideas, assisting with events, engaging with local businesses and community groups, and helping to secure donations and sponsorship. Your efforts will directly support Community First Responders, CPR & AED awareness sessions, and Public Access Defibrillator projects across the North West. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about making a positive difference in their community. No previous fundraising experience is required, and full support will be provided.

No professional experience is required – just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

We are looking for a visual merchandiser volunteer to support with creating eye-catching shelves and window displays. The role would be a great fit for someone who has a real passion for fashion, an eye for detail and understands basic principles of visual merchandising. Your role is to create amazing displays which will make Barnardo's stand out on the high street and encourage members of the public to come into our stores. It would be great if you could volunteer one shift a week (or even more if you want) but we’re always happy to be flexible to work around your availability.
